Open the Assignments tab and tap Select Calendars in the empty state, or go to Settings › Calendar & Sync › Work Calendars. You’ll be prompted to grant calendar access on first launch. SignPrep only reads your calendars and never writes to them. You can change which calendars are synced at any time.

Yes. SignPrep works with the calendars on your iPhone or iPad, whichever account they come from. Add your Google account in the Settings app, with Calendars turned on, then choose its calendars in SignPrep under Settings › Calendar & Sync › Work Calendars. The same applies to Outlook, Exchange and other calendar accounts you add in the Settings app. You sign in to Google there, not in SignPrep, so SignPrep never sees your Google password. It reads events only from the calendars you choose, on your device.

Check three things:

• Calendar permission is granted (Settings app › Privacy & Security › Calendars › SignPrep).
• At least one calendar is selected in SignPrep’s Settings › Calendar & Sync › Work Calendars.
• The event falls inside your sync range (Settings › Calendar & Sync, in the Calendar section, Sync Range, set to 7, 14, or 30 days).

If you filter events by title (Settings › Calendar & Sync, in the Events section, Filter Events by Title and Filter Mode), make sure the rule matches your events. Pull down on the Assignments list to force a fresh sync.

Yes. Tap the + button on the Assignments tab to create a manual assignment. Set the title, domain, start and end times (snapped to 5-minute increments), and location. Manual assignments are kept separate from calendar-imported events; they’re never removed by a calendar re-sync. You can edit or delete them from the assignment detail screen. On iOS 27, on a compatible device and where Siri AI (Beta) is available in your language and region, Siri AI can also add one for you: say something like “Add an assignment tomorrow at ten at City Hospital in SignPrep”, and Siri AI checks with you before it is saved. Your calendar is never changed.

On iPhone, open the Assignments tab and tap the gear at the top right. The Resources tab has the same gear, and the Self-Care tab has it under its More menu. The Glossary tab’s gear, at the top left, opens the Glossary settings page directly. On iPad in a wide window, Settings is also in the sidebar. Settings opens on thirteen rows: Your Name; Calendar & Sync, Notifications, Glossary, Reflection Export, and CPD Tracking; Apple Intelligence and Privacy & Security; Siri & Shortcuts, Widgets & Controls, and Open Shortcuts App; Appearance and Help & About. A fourteenth row, Support SignPrep, appears at the foot once the App Store has returned its three optional tips and your device can make payments.

Tip refunds are handled by Apple. On iPhone or iPad, you can ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Preparation is the single home for deeper assignment preparation. Tap Prepare for this Assignment in Assignment Detail to open it. It brings together your checklist, Research This Topic and Search the Web, Key Terms, notes, resources, and the context you provide for Apple Intelligence, with the assignment title, date, domain, and checklist progress summarised at the top.

The full checklist editor now lives in Preparation, so there is exactly one place to manage it. Assignment Detail shows your progress at a glance on the Prepare for this Assignment row, labelled Checklist, Research, Notes and more. Add, complete, delete, and reorder items in Preparation, with templates and AI suggestions available when you want them.

SignPrep can import the notes attached to your calendar events as read-only context for assignment preparation. Use Calendar Notes for Preparation, in Settings under Calendar & Sync, is on until you turn it off, and each imported assignment follows it unless you change Include in AI Context on its Calendar Notes card. Imported notes are shown separately from your own notes, are never edited back to your calendar, and never appear in widgets, notifications, Live Activities, Apple Watch surfaces, Spotlight, Siri, exports, logs or analytics, although a briefing prepared from them can appear wherever the briefing does. When included, they become part of that assignment’s AI request, as the privacy policy describes. SignPrep never receives the request or the result.

Completed assignments keep their preparation in read-only form: checklist state, notes, research, context, and any saved briefing stay reviewable for reflection and professional learning. Marking an assignment incomplete restores editing where appropriate.

Live Session is the live-session page for an assignment that is currently active or about to be used during work. It keeps the assignment countdown, timing controls, active interpreter, and assignment progress together in one focused view.

Live Session appears in Assignment Detail when an assignment is starting within the next hour or is ongoing. Before that, the detail view stays focused on preparation. If an assignment has no end time, a bounded one-hour fallback keeps the session available for a sensible window.

When SignPrep is connected to an active assignment, the page is shown as Live Session. When you open the same live-session tools without an assignment attached, it is shown as Swap Timer. Internally, both use the same live-session experience.

Ambient Mode is a set-it-down full-screen view for live sessions. Rest the phone nearby and read the Swap Timer at a glance: large text stays legible from a distance, and the colours pulse when it is time to swap, so you never reach for the screen mid-assignment. It shows large timing information, A/B interpreter roles, and assignment progress, with controls kept intentionally minimal.

Swap Timer is best when you want structured intervals, such as swapping every 15 or 20 minutes. It predicts the next swap and cycles through Running, Swap Soon, and Swap Now states.

Swap Clock is best when swaps need to follow the real clock or happen flexibly. It shows the current time, the elapsed time since the last swap, and clock-based segments for Interpreter A and Interpreter B.

No. Only one timing mode can run at a time. In the app, starting one mode stops the other so the active interpreter state stays clear across the app, Watch, widgets, and Live Activities. By voice, Siri refuses to start one while the other is running and asks you to stop timing first.

The Swap Timer, yes: pause, resume, swap, and stop work the same way from the app, Apple Watch, the Lock Screen, and Siri. Its Live Activity carries Swap & Restart, Pause (or Resume) and Stop buttons, and Apple Watch can start it and drive it. The Swap Clock is narrower: you start, pause, resume, and stop it in the app or by voice, its Live Activity has no buttons, and the Apple Watch screen mirrors it with a single Swap button. On iOS 27, on a compatible device where Siri AI is available, Siri AI can start the Swap Timer but not the Swap Clock, so use the Siri phrase “Start the swap clock in SignPrep” for the clock.

The Briefing card sits under Prepare in Assignment Detail. On a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence and SignPrep’s AI features on, the briefing prepares itself when you open an upcoming or ongoing assignment that has none yet: SignPrep asks for two sentences on the assignment’s subject matter and the terminology to expect. On iOS 26 it is written on your device. On iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 it can be written by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute when that is available, your device is online, and the Private Cloud Compute switch in Settings › Apple Intelligence is on; otherwise it is written on your device, so it still works offline. A line under the briefing names the model that wrote it. You can regenerate it for a fresh take. Briefings are saved per assignment, persist across app updates, cold launches, and calendar re-syncs, and completed assignments keep their saved briefing as read-only preparation history. If Apple Intelligence is off, the card stays visible and explains that AI must be enabled in Settings.

Open Preparation and tap Research This Topic in the Research section for a summary under four headings, Key Terminology, What to Expect, Communication Challenges, and Vocabulary to Review, then use Add to Notes to add it to the assignment’s notes. Research This Topic, like the other AI features, needs an Apple Intelligence capable device with Apple Intelligence and SignPrep’s AI features on. On iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 it can use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, in the same way as the briefing, and a line under the summary names the model that wrote it. Search the Web is separate: SignPrep builds a general query on your device, checks it for likely identifying details, and lets you check and edit it before anything is searched; only the query you approve is sent, to Google, and a query that still appears to contain protected information is blocked. All of it is a starting point for your own prep, not a verified glossary; always confirm terminology against trusted sources.

SignPrep uses Apple’s general-purpose Foundation Models through Apple Intelligence. Most requests run on your device; on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the briefing and Research This Topic can use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute. These models are good at organising and summarising the information you provide, but they are not medical, legal, or specialist knowledge bases and can be incomplete or wrong. Treat briefings, Research This Topic summaries, and terms as prompts for your own preparation, always verify them against trusted sources and your own glossary, and never rely on them as a final reference.

SignPrep uses Apple Foundation Models, and it operates no AI servers of its own. On iOS 26, SignPrep’s AI features run on your device. On iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, two features can use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute: the briefing and Research This Topic. They take that route when SignPrep’s AI features are on, Apple Intelligence is ready and SignPrep is unlocked, Apple reports Private Cloud Compute as available and within its daily limit, your device is online, and the Private Cloud Compute switch in Settings › Apple Intelligence is on, which it is unless you turn it off. Otherwise, including offline or after any failure, the same request runs on your device with no message. Checklist suggestions, glossary suggestions, DC-S prompts, self-care insights, Monthly Insights, and the writing of Search the Web queries run on your device. A request sent to Private Cloud Compute carries what the on-device model would otherwise receive for that one assignment: its title, domain and location name, the context you add and, unless you turn them off, its calendar notes; Research This Topic adds the location’s address. The briefing prepares itself when you open an upcoming or ongoing assignment, so with the default settings that can happen without a tap. A line under each recent briefing and research summary names the model that wrote it. Apple says data sent to Private Cloud Compute is used only for the request and is never stored or made accessible to Apple. SignPrep receives no AI request or result and cannot remotely access them. Search the Web is separate: only the query you check and approve is opened, as a Google search. Learn more at Apple Privacy.

Settings › Apple Intelligence › AI Features. Turning off Private Cloud Compute, just below it, keeps the briefing and Research This Topic on your device. When off, research prompts, DC-S prompts, glossary definition lookups, the Self-Care For You card, Monthly Insights, and domain auto-detection are hidden, and the Briefing card stays in place but explains that AI must be enabled in Settings. SignPrep does not run AI while the switch is off. The same page has About SignPrep’s AI, which explains what each AI feature reads, when it runs, and how to turn it off, and Reset AI Suggestions. On a device that cannot run Apple Intelligence, the switch is shown off and cannot be changed.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development, the ongoing learning interpreters log to keep their certification current. In the US this is usually counted as CEUs (Continuing Education Units), for example through RID. SignPrep gives you a full log inside the Reflection tab, exports your record as PDF or CSV, and reminds you when your renewal deadline is close. Log CPD hours by activity type. Choose RID or NRCPD to see their suggested hours, or set your own target and renewal period. For Auslan, SignPrep names NAATI as the usual CPD body.

Yes. Settings › CPD Tracking › Track CPD / CEU Hours. When off, the CPD Hours entry points on the Reflection tab, the dashboard card, and every Log CPD button are hidden. The CPD Progress widget stays and shows CPD Tracking Off, the Apple Watch CPD Progress complication shows a plain icon, and the Log CPD control in Control Centre stays and explains itself when tapped. The CPD actions stay in the Shortcuts app and say that CPD tracking is off. CPD tracking starts on for ASL, BSL, and Auslan and off for other sign languages.

Save a reflection for the assignment, and the post-save screen offers a one-tap Log CPD button that preloads the assignment’s duration. You can also log from:

• The + button on the CPD Hours screen (Reflection tab › the graduation-cap button, or the CPD Hours row)
• Log CPD Hours in an assignment’s After group
• The Log CPD control in Control Centre
• The Log CPD Time action in the Shortcuts app

Log CPD Time asks you to confirm before anything is saved, and CPD has no Siri phrase.

Optional and off by default. Settings › CPD Tracking › Carry Over Excess Hours lets extra hours from your last period count towards the current one, up to a Carry-Over Limit you set. Turn it on only if your scheme allows it. The CPD Progress widget and the Apple Watch show logged hours without carry-over, so with carry-over on they can differ from the CPD card in the app. CPD figures are guidance, not a compliance record.

Reflection tab › CPD Hours › the share button, which opens Export CPD Hours with Export as PDF and Export as CSV. Before the share sheet opens, SignPrep shows what the file keeps and removes. Within 30 days of your renewal deadline, a reminder pill appears on the dashboard and the CPD widget.

Yes, in two ways:

• Single reflection: open any reflection and tap Export to PDF to share via AirDrop, email, or Files. It is always the full version, and it goes straight to the share sheet without the review below.
• All reflections: Settings › Reflection Export › Export All as PDF, Export All as CSV, or Export by Date Range. Each asks whether you want the full or the anonymised version, and shows what the file keeps and removes before you share it.

If you flag a reflection for mentor discussion, SignPrep will suggest exporting it as a PDF for the conversation.

Yes. Reflections and CPD hours export as PDF or CSV with date-range filtering.

No. You can write a standalone reflection at any time. When the reflection isn’t linked to an assignment, an Assignment Type dropdown appears, defaulting to the domain you’ve set in Settings. When it is linked, the domain is pulled from the assignment automatically.

To make load levels legible at a glance: green for Low, orange for Medium, and red for High, across Physical Fatigue, Emotional Load, and Cognitive Load. At accessibility text sizes, the row becomes a menu picker so labels always fit.

Glossary tab › + button opens New Sign. Grant camera access the first time; SignPrep records video only, does not ask for the microphone, and strips the audio from videos you import from Photos. Record a short video, then fill in the label, description, word type, domain, and sign language. AI can suggest definitions and related words based on the label you enter. Tap Save to add the entry. You can also say “Add a new sign in SignPrep” to Siri.

Other names for a sign: lay and clinical variants, alternate spellings, and paraphrases. Add them in the Synonyms section of the New Sign or Edit Sign screen, where SignPrep also suggests some from the sign’s translations. Siri and glossary search then find the sign by those names too. Synonyms travel with your glossary when you export and import it.

Yes. Open any glossary entry and tap Share in the toolbar to send the sign’s text and its video via Messages, Mail, AirDrop, or any other share destination; it goes straight to the share sheet, without the review that glossary, reflection, and CPD exports show. Save Video saves the video to your Photos library once Photos has your permission.

Settings › Glossary › Export Glossary packages every entry (and its video, with audio stripped) into a single .signprep file that you can AirDrop, email, or save to iCloud Drive, after showing you what the file keeps and removes. Import Glossary (.signprep) on the same page accepts .signprep and .zip files, and re-importing a pack updates the entries you already have from it instead of duplicating them. Ideal for moving between devices or sharing a starter set with colleagues. Importing waits until SignPrep is unlocked if App Lock is on.

SignPrep works for interpreters of any sign language. During onboarding you can choose your preferred language, with automatic detection based on your region and an “Other” free-text option. Your selection decides whether CPD tracking starts on, which it does for ASL, BSL, and Auslan. Change it any time in Settings › Glossary › Default Sign Language.

Signs from imported glossary packs can appear when you search your device. Each one has an Include in device Search switch on its Edit Sign screen to keep it out. Signs you create yourself are not included in device search; Siri can still find them by name inside SignPrep. Assignments, reflections, and CPD hours no longer appear in device search either, though Siri and the Shortcuts app can still find them. Tapping a result while SignPrep is locked shows the unlock screen first.

On your Home Screen, touch and hold an empty area until the apps jiggle, tap Edit, then tap Add Widget and search for SignPrep. You can choose Upcoming Assignments, Featured Sign, Sign Review, Swap Clock or CPD Progress. On your Lock Screen, touch and hold it, tap Customise, then tap Add Widgets and search for SignPrep; Quick Actions is also available there. To choose which signs a Featured Sign widget shows, touch and hold it and tap Edit Widget: the sheet offers a Collection, a Sign Language, and Refresh Featured Sign, from every hour to every day. With CPD tracking off, CPD Progress shows CPD Tracking Off. While SignPrep is locked, the assignment and glossary widgets show a placeholder, although a widget that iOS is slow to refresh keeps its content until that refresh; the CPD Progress widget still shows total hours.

From 30 minutes before an assignment starts, and while it is ongoing, SignPrep can post a Live Activity to your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. It shows the title, domain, a progress ring, and an hours-and-minutes countdown. When the assignment ends, the timer becomes a tick and a Log Reflection button appears. The Swap Timer has its own Live Activity with Swap & Restart, Pause or Resume, and Stop buttons; the Swap Clock’s has none. You can turn the assignment Live Activity off in Settings › Notifications › Live Activity During Assignments.

Yes. Open Control Centre, touch and hold an empty area, then tap Add a Control and search for SignPrep. Six controls are available: Start Session, Swap Timer, Next Assignment, New Sign, Log Reflection, and Log CPD. Start Session and Swap Timer bring SignPrep forward, where the app starts the session or opens Swap Timer setup; Next Assignment shows the assignment title and a countdown; Log CPD stays available even with CPD tracking off and explains itself when tapped. While App Lock protects the app, the controls open the unlock screen and nothing starts.

SignPrep has ten featured Siri shortcuts. Their phrases all include SignPrep, and you don’t have to say them word for word, for example “What’s my next assignment in SignPrep”, “Start the swap timer in SignPrep”, “Log a reflection in SignPrep” or “Find a sign in SignPrep”. The full list, grouped by when you would use it, is in the app at Settings › Siri & Shortcuts. SignPrep’s actions also appear in the Shortcuts app.

Siri AI lets you ask in your own words, and ask about what you have open, rather than using a set phrase. On iOS 27, Siri AI can search your glossary, add or move an assignment after checking with you, run the Swap Timer like a Clock timer, and act on the sign, assignment, reflection, or list item on your screen, for example “Mark this complete” with an assignment open. It needs iOS 27 or iPadOS 27 on a device that supports Apple Intelligence, with Apple Intelligence and Siri AI turned on and your device and Siri set to the same supported language, in an eligible region; Apple may add you to a waitlist. Whether a request reaches SignPrep is Apple’s decision. See Apple’s article How to get Siri AI. The set Siri phrases work without Siri AI.

Because App Lock is on and SignPrep is locked. Every request from Siri, Siri AI, and the Shortcuts app then gets one reply, “SignPrep is locked. Open SignPrep to unlock.”, and a card with nothing else on it. Requests that open SignPrep show the unlock screen first. Unlock SignPrep and ask again.

Settings › Siri & Shortcuts › Refresh Shortcut Suggestions rebuilds the suggestions SignPrep offers from your current data, without changing your shortcuts or phrases. Clearing what Siri itself has learned is done in the Settings app, by switching SignPrep’s Siri suggestions off and on again.

Yes. View upcoming assignments, start and control the Swap Timer, and see your CPD hours and signs due for review from your wrist. Assignments, edits, and deletions sync to the watch from your iPhone. Complications include Next Assignment, Assignment Countdown, Assignment Inline, Signs Due, and CPD Progress; they update on the next sync from the phone. Smart Stack cards show upcoming assignments and the Swap Timer. An assignment with a map location offers a Directions screen, which shows the venue and asks Apple Maps for a route. The Swap Clock is mirrored on the watch with a single Swap button; start it from your iPhone. Stop on the watch also stops the session on your iPhone. When App Lock locks SignPrep, the Apple Watch app hides assignment titles and venues once your iPhone updates it.

Every reflection, glossary entry, CPD entry, mood log, briefing, preparation checklist, note, imported Calendar Note, and preference is stored on your device. There is no account, and SignPrep keeps no copy of your data and cannot remotely access your data, AI requests or results. Most AI requests run on your device; on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the briefing and Research This Topic can use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which you can turn off in Settings › Apple Intelligence. Search the Web sends only the search you check to Google, and directions send the assignment’s location to the maps app you choose. The optional Glossary Sync contacts signprep.app and sends no personal information. The privacy policy lists each feature that can send something and what it sends.

Privacy Preview is an in-app summary that explains how your current choices affect notifications, Live Activities, Apple Intelligence input, reflection exports, and Spotlight & Siri, so you can see what is shared where before you rely on it. It is read-only: its wording follows your own settings, and its sample cards are fictional examples run through the app’s real privacy code. It sits alongside the other layers you control: title controls, optional App Lock, protected app-switcher presentation, Minimise Sensitive Details, export modes, backup exclusion, and the Security Activity Log.

App Lock is optional and separate from your device passcode. You set a SignPrep-owned four-digit PIN, and on supported hardware you can enable Face ID or Touch ID with the PIN as fallback. Auto-Lock can be set to Immediately, After 1 minute, or After 5 minutes, evaluated after leaving or backgrounding the app. When locked, SignPrep shows SignPrep is Locked and asks you to Enter your PIN to unlock. Five consecutive incorrect attempts start a 30-second cooldown that doubles up to 15 minutes and survives a force-quit. Turning App Lock off requires the current PIN, and a configured App Lock starts locked after a cold launch. A PIN saved by an older version of SignPrep may be longer than four digits.

App Lock also covers what SignPrep shows elsewhere: while locked, Siri, Siri AI, and the Shortcuts app get one reply and nothing else; device search results, Control Centre controls, and links into the app open the unlock screen; the assignment Live Activity shows “Assignment” instead of the title; and the Upcoming Assignments, Featured Sign, Sign Review, and Swap Clock widgets show a placeholder. When App Lock locks SignPrep, the Apple Watch app hides assignment titles and venues once your iPhone updates it. For Siri, Shortcuts, and the widgets, the lock holds after your Auto-Lock time even if you never reopen SignPrep; under a timed Auto-Lock, the watch can keep a title until your iPhone next locks, unlocks or opens SignPrep, the Next Assignment control can keep its title until iOS next re-evaluates it, and a widget that iOS is slow to refresh keeps its content until that refresh. The CPD Progress widget is an exception and still shows total hours, and the Swap Timer and Swap Clock Live Activities keep showing the running session, which carries no assignment title and names the interpreters only as Interpreter A and Interpreter B. Reminder notifications follow Show Assignment Title in Notifications (Settings › Privacy & Security), not App Lock.

A lightweight, on-device record of app opens, locks, successful and failed unlock attempts, and non-sensitive security-setting changes. The interface shows up to the newest 50 entries while local storage retains up to 200, and Clear Log permanently removes the stored activity from your device. It contains no assignment content, is never transmitted to SignPrep, and is not an immutable or remote audit trail.

An opt-in setting that attempts to leave your assignments, reflections, CPD records, glossary signs (including saved videos and thumbnails), AI-generated text and the Security Activity Log out of iCloud and computer backups. Your settings, mood check-ins, the titles of calendar events you ignore and the short lines on the greeting card are still included in backups. New glossary media is marked after it is written, and known files are checked again at launch. The trade-off: data excluded from backups will not be restored to a new device from that backup. If a file cannot be marked successfully, SignPrep shows Backup Exclusion Incomplete and retries on a later launch.

Your SignPrep data is stored on your devices. There is no account, SignPrep operates no AI servers and no servers that hold your data, and it cannot remotely access your data, AI requests or results. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. Most AI features run on your device. On iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the briefing and Research This Topic can use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, which you can turn off in Settings › Apple Intelligence. Apple says data sent to Private Cloud Compute is used only for the request and is never stored or made accessible to Apple. Other features can send something to a service you choose, for example: Search the Web sends only the search you check to Google, directions send the assignment’s location to the maps app you choose, tips are paid through the App Store, your Apple Watch syncs with your iPhone, and a device backup you make can include SignPrep’s data unless you leave it out. The optional Glossary Sync contacts signprep.app and sends no personal information. Exports and shares go where you send them. The privacy policy lists each feature that can send something and what it sends, and Privacy Preview in the app shows what they send with your current settings. Privacy Preview in Settings, an optional App Lock with Face ID or Touch ID where supported, and Minimise Sensitive Details help you control what appears where. See the HIPAA question below for US interpreters.

SignPrep does not claim HIPAA compliance. It is a personal preparation tool for interpreters and does not need protected health information (PHI) to work, so keep patient and client details out of your calendar entries and out of the app. Your SignPrep data is stored on your device, and SignPrep runs no AI servers of its own. On iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the assignment briefing and Research This Topic can use Apple’s Private Cloud Compute, and the briefing prepares itself when you open an upcoming or ongoing assignment. These requests carry the assignment’s title, domain and location (Research This Topic adds the address), any context you add and, unless you turn them off, its calendar notes. Apple says data sent to Private Cloud Compute is used only for the request and is never stored or made accessible to Apple. To keep the briefing and Research This Topic on your device, turn off Private Cloud Compute in SignPrep’s Settings, under Apple Intelligence. This is general information, not legal advice.

If you have iCloud Backup or a Finder/iTunes backup enabled, SignPrep’s on-device data can be included in your own encrypted device backup, the same as any other app. SignPrep does not operate the backup service or have access to that backup; it stays within your Apple account. If you prefer to keep sensitive assignment details out of any backup, keep patient or client identifiers out of the app and your calendar in the first place, or use the opt-in Exclude Data from iCloud Backups setting described above.

Most core features work offline, and the AI features need no connection: on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27, the briefing and Research This Topic can use Private Cloud Compute when it is available, your device is online, and the Private Cloud Compute switch in Settings › Apple Intelligence is on, and run on your device otherwise. Search the Web, directions in a maps app, and the Apple Watch Directions screen require a connection, and so do the tips in Support SignPrep.

SignPrep has no account, so you delete your data on your devices. Deleting the SignPrep app from your Home Screen deletes everything it stored on that device. To delete part of it: Settings › Glossary › Reset Glossary permanently deletes all glossary entries and their associated media; the Self-Care tab’s More menu › Reset Mood Log… permanently deletes all your mood-over-time data; Settings › Apple Intelligence › Reset AI Suggestions clears saved briefings, summaries, prep suggestions and encouragement messages; and Settings › Privacy & Security › Security Activity Log › Clear Log removes all recorded security activity. Settings › Calendar & Sync › Reset & Resync Calendar rebuilds your imported assignments and keeps your notes, AI text, reflections and manual assignments, and Settings › Help & About › Getting Started › Restart Onboarding changes nothing you have saved. A copy in your iCloud Backup or a computer backup, and any file you exported, is yours to delete through Apple or wherever you saved it. No. SignPrep preserves your assignments (manual and imported), glossary entries, reflections, CPD hours, AI briefings, research summaries, and settings across every app update. Calendar re-syncs also preserve all user data on each assignment; only the calendar metadata refreshes.

Your Apple Watch syncs with your iPhone automatically: assignments and the Swap Timer are mirrored across both devices, and the watch updates on the next sync. iPhone and iPad each keep their own data, because SignPrep has no account. To move your glossary or a starter set between an iPhone and iPad, use Settings › Glossary › Export Glossary on one device and Import Glossary on the other.

Because SignPrep app data is stored on-device with no SignPrep cloud account, the surest way to carry backed-up data across is an encrypted iPhone backup. When you restore your new iPhone from an iCloud or Finder/iTunes backup of your old one, SignPrep and its included data can come across with it; anything excluded with Exclude Data from iCloud Backups will not be restored from that backup. You can also export your glossary as a .signprep file and your reflections and CPD as PDF or CSV beforehand as an extra safeguard. Installing SignPrep fresh on a new phone starts with an empty library.
